Healing often requires more than just intellectually understanding what brings you to therapy, but means really shining a light into your internal system to see how it works to protect you. We acknowledge the courage needed to explore your inner world and view it as a privilege that you’d consider letting us accompany you on your journey.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (“IFS”) is a modality of therapy that we whole-heartedly believe in.  It helps us conceptualize ourselves, our clients and others through a lens of self-compassion and curiosity.  IFS invites us to shift what we know and understand intellectually to a more embodied and heart-centered experience of knowing.  This work invites us to shift from judging ourselves and the aspects of our personality that can get in our way to wondering about the positive intention underneath the behavior.  We also can wonder together about what that behaviors (or “parts”) are protecting and how we might bring healing to what’s underneath what initially brings us to therapy.  One of the things that we love most about IFS is that its most foundational premise is that we can trust the innate intuition of our clients and that everyone’s system ultimately knows what it needs in order to heal.  IFS is best experienced rather than explained, so we look forward to the journey of helping you shift your relationship with yourself in a deeply transforming way.
